Elephant Underpass and Permanent Speed Reduction

Walayar (Kerala) to Madukari (Tamil Nadu)

• SWIM initiated a project to Prevent Elephant Deaths on Rail Tracks between Walayar (Kerala) to Madukari (Tamil Nadu) around 58 Km and provide a safe Passage for Elephant Crossings
• The Ministry of Railways allotted 7.49 Cr immediately to Southern Railway and build an Under Pass first of it's kind in Southern Railway with 18.3 Meters in length and 6 Meters Vertical Clearance completed.
• The Permanent Speed Reduction ( PSR ) from 65kmph to less than 30kmph suggested by SWIM was accepted by the Honorable Madras High Court
